Cycling for Charity // 2nd January 2012
Director Andrew Filbee and Senior Corporate Manager Domenic Granelli are well on their way to raising a massive £3,000 for charity thanks to swapping their calculators for cycling shorts
Spurred on by the Gardners Challenge 2010, where all the staff got involved in a charity cyclethon, raising over £800 for Holywell Community Hospital, both Andrew and Domenic vowed to carry on cycling as well as supporting charities in the process.
As a result Andrew and Domenic are taking part in the London to Paris Bike Ride to help raise money toward the Big Issue Foundation, which supports people who are homeless or vulnerably housed. The bike ride is starting on 21st July 2011 will take place over three days where Andrew and Domenic will cycle 230 miles each.
Both men are looking forward to the event itself and as well as training hard are still looking for some more sponsorship to take them to their target of £3,000.
Andrew Filbee says: “We’re training hard for this event as we’re aware of the challenges that it will bring. Needless to say we’ll be looking forward to a relaxing bath at the end of every day!”
