Staff and clients alike are limbering up to get ready for an all day cyclethon to raise money for Holywell Community Hospital // 11th May 2010
The sporty staff are planning to hold the cyclethon on Thursday May 20th using exercise bikes kindly loaned from Lyons Den Fitness of Holywell and aim to cycle as many miles as possible in order to raise as much money as they can. The staff have been split into teams and a friendly rivalry has taken hold to see who can raise the most money.
“The teams are really getting into the whole event, which is brilliant.” Says Gardners director Melanie Langton-Davies. They’re out exercising and cycling most evenings and have become quite competitive!”
The initial idea came from office administrator, Alison Hughes, who approached Melanie asking if Gardners would support her in helping raise money for her local hospital.
Melanie continues: “It was perfect timing as we’d also received a letter from Holywell town mayor, Cllr Rosetta Dolphin, asking for support for her selected charities, one of which was also Holywell Community Hospital, so we immediately agreed.”
Cllr Dolphin is thrilled that Gardners are getting so involved in backing Holywell Community Hospital and has even promised to have a quick cycle herself!
